Another shot of the anonymous bug. If someone has a lexicon on bugs or some knowledge about bugs native to central Europe, please call in and enlighten me.

By the way these guys were sitting on a peppermint plant, don't know if that could be a hint. There were dozens of them either sleeping or *ahem* mating.

That's some chrysomelid beetle (Chrysomelidae). I don't dare guessing at the species!

Great capture! Love the sharpness and details. The metallic colours were captured very well!

You sure? Be careful, there are often very similar species that are hard to distinguish, dunno if that's the case here though. Wiki's probably not the most reliable source for identifying species.

Hey Moment mal, du kommst aus Österreich? Dann können wir ja auch Deutsch quatschen. ^^ Naja vom Bild bei Wiki ausgehend und der Beschreibung passt es ziemlich gut, die Körpergröße lag bei etwa 5-7mm, die Fühler sind hell-dunkel gestreift und der Körper ist gedrungen und oval.

Ups, hab gar nicht geschaut!

Geh mal auf [link] und guck dir die Bilder der verschiedenen Chrysolina-Arten an. Kenn mich mit der Gattung zu wenig aus um sagen zu können, ob eine sichere Bestimmung anhand von Fotos möglich ist.

Naja sicher nicht, aber auch nach den Fotos, die die dort haben, würde ich sagen, es ist die Art fastuosa. :)
Mit Überzeugung sag ich mal, aber nicht mit wissenschaftlicher Sicherheit.
